The students of Cotton University have been protesting against the amendment of the CAB from a very long time. The students staged a silent protest again in front of the gate of the university on 29th November.
The protest was against the introduction of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Parliament. They could be seen holding posters which read ‘Scrape CAB’, ‘CAB is unconstitutional’, etc. The students covered their mouths with black cloths.
Addressing the media, a student of the university said,” We’ll never accept the Bill. It will annihilate the culture and tradition of the indigenous people of the State. No one can intimidate us, be it Prime Minister or the Chief Minister. We will sacrifice ourselves for our motherland, but we will never allow the unconstitutional Bill to be passed.”
