For the first time in the history of the Board of Secondary Education Minister (BoSEM), a 12 year old boy is allowed to appear the HSLC examinations.
Isaac Paulallungmuan Vaiphei, son of Genkholian Vaiphei, resident of Kangvai Bazar in Mnaipur’s Churachandpur had lately submitted an application. The permission has been granted on the basis of ‘mental age and superior IQ (Intelligence Quotient) level’.
The application was approved by the examination committee of BoSEM after the clinical psychology department of Regional Insitute of Medical Sciences in Imphal administered a test on him.
Issac said confidently, “ I wanted to become the youngest candidate from Manipur as Naina Jaiswal from Hyderabad had done it earlier at the age of 8.”
He also said, “I also want to become the youngest IAS officer from Manipur.”
It is to mention that Issac secures top position in the previous classes in Mt Olive School, Kangvai. He had showed interest in reading books of higher classes and books on other subjects.
