Golaghat man distributes essentials amongst wage workers with the call for total lockdown in the country


As announced by the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, India is under complete lockdown w.e.f midnight of 24th of March for 21 days. This lock down was much needed to prevent the coronavirus from spreading in communities.

This lockdown will impact people nationwide, especially the daily wage labours, as there will be no work. Though Delhi & UP governments have announced monetary aids to such vulnerable category of people, in Assam no such immediate announcements have been made.

Amidst this critical condition, a man from Golaghat has come forward to help the needy. Abhishek Boney Singha have reportedly donated ‘CARE’ kits to families of daily wage labours.

The noble work in the moment of crisis was done in a phased manner & completed by 23rd of March, a day before the initial lockdown announcement of the state government w.e.f 24th March 6 pm to 31st March.

The ‘CARE’ kit includes:

i) 5 kgs. bag of rice

ii) 1/2 kgs. of split red lentil

iii) 2 kgs. of Pitha Guri

iv) Biscuit packets

v) Diet popcorn packets

vi) 2 nos. of Dettol bottles

vii) 1 pkt. of Bleaching powder

viii) 1 bottle of Phenyl

ix) 1 bottle of Citronella

and x) Chocolates for kids.

Moreover, Singha also provided ‘Financial Aid’ to the poor to purchase everyday essentials.
