The e-commerce giant Flipkart has suspended their services temporarily from today due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the Prime Minister yesterday in a speech addressing the nation amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
But later today, the CEO of the Walmart-owned Flipkart asserted that the company will resume delivery of groceries & other essentials.
The statement of the CEO, Kalyan Krishnamurthy said,
“We have been assured of safe and smooth passage of our supply chain and delivery executives by local law enforcement authorities and are resuming our grocery and essentials services later today,”
It is to be noted that, the 21 day nationwide lockdown was exempted for essential services such as groceries, pharmacies, hospitals, electricity, print & electronic media etc.
