73rd Edition of the Cannes Film Festival postponed due to coronavirus

In the wake of the global pandemic, coronavirus, the Cannes Film Festival has been postponed. In the history of the annual film festival held in Cannes, France, this will be the first time when the organizers have to suspend the festival.

The 2020 Cannes Film Festival Award Ceremony has now been re-scheduled to conduct on Wednesday, 15th July. Notably, founded 73 years ago, the film festival is graced by many popular actors, film personalities from around the world.

From India, the former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai was the first Bollywood Actor to attended the Film Festival in 2003. Later,  Deepika Padukone, Soonam K Ahuja, Katrina Kaif among others too took part in the festival.

The global scenario has been widely disrupted by the COVID-19. The virus has infected 349,179 people globally as of now. 15,297 people have died from the virus whereas 100,337 people have recovered.
