Two of the most iconic actresses of the film industry were felicitated at the Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) national award on November 17th. The annual award event honored the ones who had created an ever lasting impact on Indian Cinema.
Actress Rekha and Late Sridevi were awarded as the most iconic actresses who left their contributions to the Indian film fraternity. Boney Kapoor received the award on Late Sridevi’s behalf. While receiving the award, he broke down on stage. He said , “ I’m sure she would have felt humbled to receive this award and I accept this on behalf with humility.”
Rekha expressed her joy on receiving the award. She also appreciated Sridevi’s acting skills saying, “Sridevi is my little sister nd an actor par excellence.” She also stated, “ To get the fluency in the language, I want to do a Telegu film soon. I have to hone my speaking skills akin to how Sridevi used to deliver her dialogues effortlessly.”
The awards were presented by Telegu actor Chiranjeevi. Many other member from the film industry could be seen there. Actor Akkineni Nagarjna, his wife Amala and two sons, industrialist T. Subbirami Reddy and the members from the film industry attending the event.
