Amidst the increasing number of positive cases, the first case of West Bengal has come to light.
Reportedly, the patient, a 18-years-old man who had gone to the UK for higher studies, returned on Sunday. The results of the man tested positive for novel coronavirus on Tuesday.
An official said,
“The swab samples of the patient were collected and sent immediately for examination. When the reports came, it showed positive for the novel coronavirus.”
It is to be noted that, this is the first case of the COVID-19 in West Bengal. As per official statement, the patient has been admitted to the isolation ward of the Beliaghata ID hospital after he started showing symptoms of the disease.
As per Government officials, the patient’s parents and their driver all three have been quarantined at the newly-set up facilty in Rajarhat area. As per reports, the Government is now trying to trace all the people who came in contact with him. His vehicle will also be disinfected for further precaution.
