In recent times, many illegal organizations are spreading across the various parts of Assam efficiently dealing the illegal transactions of railway tickets. In exchange for a large sum of money, these organizations are selling rail tickets to passengers without paying heed to any rule of the administration. These grey markets of railway tickets which are constantly increasing at a concerning number, mostly target the common man of the state.
In a recent finding of Khobor Northeast, such an illegal racket has been brought to focus once again. As per the reports, Lumding’s “Thakurbari” area has become the centre of such illegal sales. “Pratima Mobile Centre”, owned by Shankar Bhattacharya, is allegedly being known to perform such activities for a long time now.
In the recent investigation, led by RPF Inspector Ridesh Sharma, as many as 9 tickets were seized along with a computer and other documents. The owner is now being sent to the Lumding Railway Police Station for further interrogation.
The administration should take firm actions to identify such illegal rackets so that they can be wiped off from the root. Otherwise, these illicit ticket centres will inevitably keep harassing the masses.
