The highly controversial final draft of NRC was released on 31st August, 2019, by the state co-ordination committee headed by Pratik Hajela. The draft NRC however had names of those involved in claims and objections.
The NRC state coordinator issued a statement, which read,”Whereas the final NRC publication on 31st August 2019 consisted only of supplementary lists, queries are being received from the public about the publication of results of all members of the family irrespective of their involvement in the claims and objection process. The result for the complete family will be available for the online display from September 14, 2019.
More than 19 lakh claims were rejected and all of them now need to appeal at the Foreigners Tribunal. They need to collect their rejection certificates from their NRC Seva Kendra (NSK). NRC state coordinator committee shed light on the fact that queries are also received from the public about the issue pf certified copies of rejection from the final NRC.
“The public is aware that the hearings have been held at different venues away from their designated NSK. The process of collection of the orders passed by the NRC officers is being carried out to enable early availability of the same to the public to file appeals. The time frame for this process will be announced shortly.” read the statement.
