The Flag Ceremony On 15th August And 26th January Is Not The Same! Lets’ Know The Differences

  1. On 15th August, the flag is hoisted (from below) and unfurled whereas on 26th January, the flag is already up there and is unfurled.

2. On 15th August the Flag Ceremony is done by the Prime Minister whereas on 26th January the Flag Ceremony is held by the President.

3. On 15th August, the Flag Ceremony is held at Red Fort, Delhi, whereas on 26th January the Flag Ceremony is held at Rajpath.

4. At state level, On 15th August, the Chief Minister of every state hoists the National Flag in the capital cities of their respective states followed by parades and cultural events whereas on 26th January, the Governor of the state unfurls the National Flag. All other Ministers, High Court Chief Justice and Government Officials hoists the National Flag at their respective offices.
