Delhi Govt. shuts down public places: How long will it take for India to come up with the COVID-19 Vaccine?


 With more than 129,388 confirmed cases and 4,291 deaths, the COVID-19 disease is causing turmoil in 114 countries across the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Covid-19 outbreak a ‘Global Pandemic’ pandemic on March 11th.

Meanwhile, over 1,500 people are under monitoring and 73 positive cases of coronavirus have popped up in India.

The Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indians not to travel abroad unless under compelling situation & suspended all existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/international organisations, employment, project visas until April 15th. The visa-free travel facility for Overseas Indian Card (OIC) holders has been suspended until the same date.

Delhi government has ordered to shut down all the schools, colleges, movie halls and any crowded place which can cause mass gatherings till March 31st as a preventive measure to control the spread of the virus.

Senior Health Ministry officials of India today said, that finding out a vaccine for the disease will not be an easy task. Further, he hinted possibilities of at least one-and-a-half to two years time frame for India to develop the vaccine for the novel coronavirus.
