Protestors wave Axomiya Gamusa to stage protest

After the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 was passed in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Guwahati and all of Assam has seen massive protests against it. Today, the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and 69 indigenous organizations took the streets of the city  on Thursday to stage protest against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The protesters staged the protest by displaying the Axomiya Gamusa, which is of great significance for the people of Assam.The agitators slammed the Assam government for supporting the passage of the Bill.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 was tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday but it was stalled following strong opposition from the Congress, Trinamool Congress along with other parties.

The protestors also said that from tomorrow they will go to the remote places and continue their protests until the bill is crapped.
