Holi festivities across the state: Dry Day prevails on Kamrup Metro


March 9th has been declared ‘dry day’ by the Kamrup Metropolitan district administration.

On advent of the holi festival, the decision has been taken to intact law and order as well as peace among the citizens.

A notification has been issued in this regard by the administration that states,

“In exercising power conferred under section 52 (1) of Assam excise Act, 2000, the undersigned hereby declares the closure of all the retail IMFL “ON”/”OFF”/Club” licenses and the counrty sprits shops in Kamrup Metropolitan District on 9th march, 2020 till 4:00 PM. of the day for preservation of public peace in view of the “Holi Festival.”

The netizens, though participated in the festival of colours, seemed to be actively abiding by the regulation with alcohol shops remaining closed all day.
